It is a typical Mid Century cup and saucer set from a time when time was taken to enjoy a moment from the cares of the day...a cup and saucer to use...pretty on the shelf and pretty in the hand...a perfect indulgence. It is typical of the mid century English Bone China Teacups so popular with the ladies "lunch and do tea".

DIMENSIONS and SPECS: Teacup is approx. 2 7/8" tall and the saucer is approx. 5 3/4" diameter across. The cup is approx. 4 1/4" across the top at the handle, including handle. Lovely scalloped edges on cup and saucer. No obvious chips, cracks. Gold on handle of cup and saucer and at base of cup. The cup has Detailed Floral on the cup and on the saucer. Soft floral yellow Roses and green leaves with purple floral accents. Some wear to gold on cup handle. Marked Royal Vale Bone China Made in England A product of Ridgeway Potteries. Ridgeway Potteries was established their factory at Hanley at Stoke-on-Trent in the 1790's and continued manufacturing until the mid twentieth century. They Later merged with the Booths & Colclough China Company during the 1940's and later became Royal Doulton in 1972.
