A classic style to wear for years to come. A lovely hat. This is a hat from the 1960''s but it was made in a classic Edwardian Victorian style. It is a perfect Derby or Garden Party Hat. DETAILS and SPECS: circa 1960's Pink and White Straw Hat with decorative & opulent Rose floral trim & pink velvet hat band. Circumference Approx. 22" Approx. 4 1/2" from crown to edge of brim which turns up. Crown approx. 4 1/2" tall 7" across Pink Silk Millinery rose flower trim. Label Gimbels size 22 Silk roses on hat have a few holes (age wear) and stems are made of hollow millinery plastic with wires for shaping Hat is in good vintage shape--it appears to be a special hat that was not worn often--perhaps purchased for a wedding and worn once and then put away. A bit of interesting history concerning this hat: It was originally purchased at Gimbels on 34th st in Manhattan New York (across from the famous Macy's on 34th). The Gimbels store had a "bit part" in Miracle on 34th St. as a mention for a special Christmas gift request. It was one of the true retail department stores of the earlier mid century: 10 floors of wonderful merchandise founded in 1887 and closed in 1987.
