Dainty little china Japanese Sterling China Teacup and saucer It is a small cup and saucer that is a perfect size for Cappuccino or demitasse. This small cup would be the perfect breakfast or afternoon tea cup and saucer for a little boy or girl. These little cup sets were often collected by ladies for cabinet display cups. Dainty and delightful little cups ready for a "spot of tea". Perfect for a child's 1st teacup to enjoy making memories with Mommy or Nana.

This is another Tea Cup/Saucer set from an estate of a lady who collected beautiful teacups. It is a typical Mid Century cup and saucer set from a time when women collected teacups to display and to use...pretty on the shelf and pretty in the hand...a perfect indulgence. The lady who collected this cup originally was part of a club where the members exchanged teacups at various events.

DIMENSIONS: Teacup is approx. 2 7/8" tall and the saucer is approx. 4 3/4" diameter across. The cup is approx. 3 1/2" across the top at the handle. Green/Turquoise Luster with gold decoration accents on saucer with mother pear luster inside cup. Band of turquoise green luster with gold decoration on edge of cup/base of pedestal, handle and over green luster band. Gold on rim of cup with decoration of gold on cup and fancy handle with gold decoration on saucer too. Pedestal base cup. Paper label "sterling". Label has piece of tape attaching/holding it on. Circa 1940s-1950s. It is in the style of mid century china with the style of the cup and saucer one that was used on many pieces of Mid Century Japanese china teacups that the "ladies who lunched" loved and and shared. It is typical of the mid century Japanese china that was so popular after the Second World War. No obvious chips, cracks or wear.
