Classic English White Tea Leaf Ironstone Platter. Perfect for your Farmhouse style kitchen or bath. Great Color and Wear. Unusual Scalloped shaped platter. Wonderful mellow toning and age that only time and use can give an antique. Mellor, Taylor & Co. was an earthenware manufacturer from 1882-1904. They were one of several English potteries located in Stoke-on-Trent. They were well know for their quality ironstone made for the upper middle class market. Their Hard Durable Granite or Ironstone China was made for the American Market. The back stamp on this platter was in use from 1880-1904 and uses the exact replica of shield, crown and wreath from the obverse of the Queen Victoria Half Crown Coin. Dimensions and Specs: Approx. 11 3/4 X 16 1/4" Scalloped Rectangular Platter. No chips or cracks. Glaze is glossy and not dull. Stains with very light wear...nice for age...see photos as they are part of description(use zoom feature for greater detail).
