Black triangle panels with touches of gold accent on edges of cup and saucer and gold decorative design on mother of pearl background. Classic teacup typical of the Mid Century modern Japanese teacups that were so popular with the "ladies that lunch". Elegant Victorian/Edwardian Steampunk style tea cup. Wonderful vintage teacup for a gentleman's tea. This cup would be a lovely tea cup to enjoy your breakfast or afternoon tea. Dainty and delightful china cup and saucer ready for a "spot of tea". This is another Tea Cup/Saucer set from an estate of a lady who collected beautiful teacups. It is a typical cup and saucer set from a time when women collected teacups to display and to use...pretty on the shelf and pretty in the hand...a perfect indulgence. The lady who collected this cup originally was part of a club where the members exchanged teacups at various events.

DIMENSIONS and SPECS: Teacup is approx. 3" tall and the saucer is approx. 5 1/2" diameter across. The cup is approx. 4 1/2" across the top at the handle, including handle. No obvious chips, cracks. Small lumps of clay/glazed inside cup rim from factory finishing. Paint is bright and clear--Light reflections are seen in photos. Fancy handle with small pedestal base on cup and scalloped edges on cup and saucer. Gold on edge of cup and saucer and with gold on handle and on edge of cup. Black triangular panels with mother of pearl and gold floral accents. Presumed Made in Japan--most likely had a small label that has been lost with time/washing. It is in the style of the Japanese teacups and saucers produced for the mid century post war market. It has the finishing typical of Japanese factory production.
