Pretty and Quaint Rose Chintz pattern teacup and saucer... lovely all over rose chintz design. So dainty--pretty pink rose floral. Roses are the flower of the month for June--the birthday flower and so much more. Classic mid century teacup typical of the mid century Japanese teacups that were so popular with the "ladies that lunch". This cup would be a lovely tea cup to enjoy your breakfast or afternoon tea. Dainty and delightful china cup and saucer ready for a "spot of tea". My grandmother always said that tea tasted better when you were drinking out of a china cup. Perfect for that time when you need to take care of yourself and reflect. This would be the special shower or tea party gift for that special someone who would love an indulgence. This is another Tea Cup/Saucer set from an estate of a lady who collected beautiful teacups. It is a typical Mid Century cup and saucer set from a time when women collected teacups to display and to use...pretty on the shelf and pretty in the hand...a perfect indulgence. The lady who collected this cup originally was part of a club where the members exchanged teacups at various events which involved good times and a "spot of tea".

We Love Pretty Teacups and are always on the "treasure hunt" for unique and pretty sets to offer in our shops. As members of the Daughters of the British Empire, tea time is a very special part of our life.

DIMENSIONS and SPECS: Teacup is approx. 2 3/4" tall and the saucer is approx. 4 1/2" diameter across. The cup is approx. 4 3/4" across the top at the handle, including handle. No obvious chips, cracks. Marked with sticker that had washed off--only slight paper left on saucer. Pattern is typical of decal used by multiple Japanese factories for several different importers. This decal has been used for Trimont, Lefton and others. Gold accents on edge of cup and at footed base and on dainty scrolled handle. Chintz Rose floral decoration on body of cup and saucer. Typical china and finishing of the Japanese factories of the Mid Century. It is in the style of mid century china with the style of the cup and saucer one that was used on many pieces of Mid Century Japanese china teacups that the "ladies who lunched" loved and and shared. It is typical of the mid century Japanese china that was so popular after the Second World War. Please see photos as they are part of the description.
