Dainty and delightful turn of the century hand painted for get me not dish. Such a lovely piece so pretty with it's delicate and richly china painted for get me not flowers .  Perfect for your English tea table classic lemon and sweets dish. It is accented with a peachy pink on the edge of the dish. The Roman gold decoration on the edge and the handles shows slight wear consistent with the age. This is a classic example of the fine art of china painting that so many young girls practiced in the early 1900's. China Painting was considered a vital part of every young girl's education prior to entering society. This piece demonstrates the work of an artist with advanced skills and uses lovely deep richly colored paints to bring the violets to life. It is gorgeous with it's rich deep colors and it's attention to detail. It is the work of a skilled artisan. The Brush strokes and depth of colors are remarkable. Very "quick and precise" strokes. The dish is painted in the elegant "artsy' style of the turn of the century. The for get me not floral decoration "dances" across the china. A lovely piece of work by a confident painter. DIMENSIONS and SPECS: Small dish with handle has hand painted for get me not flowers with Roman Gold (matt) on handle and on edges. Approx 6 1/4" measured across. Decorative edge with slight curve up on edges of plate (not flat) No obvious chips, cracks--slight wear on gold from use. No maker mark or artist signature.
