Vintage California Sylvans Pottery Rose Salt and Pepper set with artful design. They have a sticker Sylvans Pasadena . It is typical of the pottery produced in 1930's-1940's--not highly refined or finished but good line and style--useful and decorative. Lovely salt and pepper set with beautiful rose petals forming a bud and green leaf accents surrounding the bud. They have a lovely pink with rose accent at the petal edges. They would be perfect sitting on your table in your cottage or shabby chic decor. They appear to have never been used. I imagine that they were part of a salt and pepper collection and were perhaps a vacation souvenir of a wonder summer vacation trip to California and perhaps even Disneyland! They would enhance any collection or would be a great beginning of a collection. They add that special touch of color and "conversation" to your collection. Pretty to look at and Delightful to use! After the second World War, America was intent on enjoying "the good life" and took every opportunity to "jump" into their family station wagon and see America. Of course, they needed to bring home special tangible memories of their journeys. Whole collections of Salt and Pepper Shakers were created as the shakers were small enough to add to their luggage and carried "huge" memories of a fun time had by all! As these were designed to be objects of use, they were not highly refined. they are a Nice accent for your décor. I love old pottery. It is timeless and translates to any style. DETAILS AND SPECS: Dimensions Approx 2 1/2" X 2 1/8" There are no obvious chips, cracks or paint missing. There is a silver foil Sylvans Pasadena sticker on one of the pieces. They have their cork stoppers.
