Victorian Drawstring Purse Black silk fabric with beads .... So ladylike and elegant.  Make a fashion statement by adding a bit of retro flare to your wardrobe! Details: Purse is silk fabric black with red, blue and "silver" black tone beads in a decorative pattern. Beading on flaps, at bottom of purse body and at side edge seams. Drawstring bag with "rope" drawstring pull. Black tassel at base with decorative flaps attached at drawstring top. Black fabric lining. Vintage fabric purse most likely made by a home seamstress using a contemporary pattern from a lady's magazine. Small pinhole in fabric at top on flap and silk underlay has developed holes/tears with age on underside of flap. (see photos) Approx. 11" wide at top with drawstring open. Approx 9 3/4" widest part on fabric body Approx. 1 1/2" wide at bottom of fabric body above point. Approx. 9 1/2" top open measured across. Drawstring cord measures approx. 19" with purse pulled open Drawstring handle "drop" approx 11 1/4" long on each side. Decorative flap approx 5 1/4" deep by 12 3/4" point to point at bottom Approx 9 1/2" at top of flap where attaches to drawstring casing. Flap has rounded bottom edge rather than straight cut across. Beading on flaps, at bottom of purse body and at side edge seams. Purse body approx 11 1/4 long to tassel Tassel is approx 4 3/4" Purse total length approx. 16" Because of the age of the silk fabric this purse is fragile. It can still be enjoyed and used but care needs to be taken with it. It looks nice without obvious wear but there is wear/age--see description.
