Classic teacups typical of the Mid Century modern Japanese teacups that were so popular with the "ladies that lunch". This cup would be a lovely tea cup to enjoy your breakfast or afternoon tea. This is another Tea Cup/Saucer set from an estate of a lady who collected beautiful teacups. It is a typical cup and saucer set from a time when women collected teacups to display and to use...pretty on the shelf and pretty in the hand...a perfect indulgence. The lady who collected this cup originally was part of a club where the members exchanged teacups at various events.

DIMENSIONS and SPECS: Teacup is approx. 2 1/4" tall and the saucer is approx. 5 3/8" diameter across. The cup is approx. 4 3/8" across the top at the handle, including handle. No obvious chips, cracks. Gold on edge of cup and saucer and gold accent on handle. Gold decorative pattern cartouche design and raised paste outline accent to gold floral/leaves. Marked Hand Painted Made in Japan --it is in the style of the Japanese teacups and saucers produced for the mid century post war market. This listing is for one teacup and saucer set but additional matching teacup and saucer are available for purchase. Please inquiry if interested. Small pinhole in one cup typical of Japanese Factory finish pieces--they were mass produced. Please see photos as they are part of the description.
