Classic teacup typical of the Mid Century modern Japanese teacups that were so popular with the "ladies that lunch". This cup would be a lovely tea cup to enjoy your breakfast or afternoon tea. Dainty and delightful china cup and saucer ready for a "spot of tea". A wonderful way to "step out of life and recharge your batteries" This would be the special shower or tea party gift for that special someone who would love an indulgence. This is another Tea Cup/Saucer set from an estate of a lady who collected beautiful teacups. It is a typical cup and saucer set from a time when women collected teacups to display and to use...pretty on the shelf and pretty in the hand...a perfect indulgence. The lady who collected this cup originally was part of a club where the members exchanged teacups at various events.

DIMENSIONS and SPECS: Teacup is approx. 2 1/2" tall and the saucer is approx. 5 7/8" diameter across. The cup is approx. 4 5/8" across the top at the handle, including handle. No obvious chips, cracks. Gold on edge of cup and saucer and gold accent on fancy handle. Embossed decorative pattern in china body. Teacup has floral Rose pattern on outside of cup and inside cup and on saucer with cutouts on edge of saucer (reticulated). Scallop edge on foot of cup. Pink background with floral design and floral gold outline accents. Not Marked--Most likely it had a paper label that was lost with use. Made in Japan--it is in the style of the Japanese teacups and saucers produced for the mid century post war market. Please see photos as they are part of the description.
